Mr. Rivas is a member in good standing of the Fresno County Bar Association, the State Bar of California, the Litigation Section of the California State Bar, Fresno County La Raza Lawyers Association, and the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC). In addition, Mr. Rivas has been a featured speaker at seminars through the National Business Institute where he lectures to other legal professionals on the practice of law and most recent legal developments. Mr. Rivas has also volunteered coaching local high school students in the Mock Trial program which teaches students the nuances and mechanics of jury trial practice. Mr. Rivas also acts as an advisor to local high schools through the Fresno County Office of Education wherein he works with high students on public policy projects with the ultimate goal of implementing policy changes that effect matters of public concern.
