The statute of limitations is the law that tells you how long you legally have to make a claim against someone who’s injured you or a loved one. In Oregon, in general, you have two years from the date of injury to sue someone in court. If you were injured by a government agency, there are also statutory notice requirements within six months of your injury. Failure to comply with notice requirements or file suit within two years of discovery of your injury can terminate your right to bring your claim.
