If you have already hired another attorney to handle your personal injury case and are dissatisfied with their services, the first step is to try to resolve the issues with that attorney. Poor communication, disagreement over the amount of a potential settlement, and lack of attention to the case are the reasons we most often hear from clients who are unhappy with their current attorneys. However, it is very important that you feel comfortable and confident with your lawyer. If you have tried to work things out but the problems remain, you have the right to change attorneys. Your former attorney may place a lien for attorney fees and expenses incurred in your case, but our firm’s policy is to pay that lien from our own fees if you switch attorneys. In other words, you have the right to change lawyers, and doing so will not cost you anything.
